Sense of Self was founded by me, Erin Logan. I am a registered Counselling Psychologist with over 15 years of therapeutic experience, and I specialise in trauma. I have worked in a variety of settings in Australia and the UK including trauma services, generalist mental health services, NHS, private inpatient hospitals such as the Nightingale Hospital and corporate services including occupational rehabilitation and the Independent Inquiry into Childhood Sexual Abuse (IICSA). I have assisted children, adolescents, adults and older adults to overcome a range of relational, emotional and mental health concerns through individual and group therapy. I also have experience supervising psychologists and health workers and providing training to mental health workers and the wider community.

I created Sense of Self because I desire to provide an evidence-based, timely and effective service that is tailored to individuals’ unique needs and is delivered with compassion.

I consider it an honour when a person invites me to bear witness to their story, help them to reframe their challenges, reconnect and find balance in their lives.

I am particularly interested in working with trauma, attachment concerns, issues that may arise from personal change (e.g. grief and loss and interpersonal difficulties), managing overwhelming emotions and the challenges of depression, anxiety and work related stress.

I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Counselling Psychologist. I am an EMDR Europe Accredited Practitioner with EMDR UK and a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) .

Personal interests include travelling as it combines all of my loves for nature, art, people and food. I used to play competitive netball and basketball and these days I enjoy keeping fit through yoga and running. All of these things help me to stay grounded and feel balanced in my life.
